The Interstate-5 is a 1,381-mile corridor running north to south from Canada to Mexico. In California, the highway is dotted with 28 Caltrans operated rest areas that could serve as an introduction to the place as well as provide important information to travelers. I repositioned one I-5 rest stop to reflect its location.  Collaterals for wayfinding, signage and information systems were developed as a part of the branding strategy.

A new identity was developed to give the rest stop a more current look and feel. I chose to rebrand the Vista del Lago Visitor's Center in Gorman: situated near Pyramid Lake, it is a testament to the California drought's severity. It houses a museum educating visitors about California's water system that offers a natural opportunity to make people more cognizant of water use.
